1966 Pontiac GTO
Midnight Hot Rods started talking with the car's owner Daniel about this build well over a year ago. Daniel wanted a 1966 Pontiac GTO, but not just any GTO. Daniel was looking for a GTO that would have 700-800 hp under the hood, be a reliable driver, handle and stop like a racecar, yet be streetable. Steve conceived the idea of mating a late model C6 Corvette chassis to the GTO.
Once Midnight Hot Rods received the go ahead we spent 11 months searching for a suitable body. After looking at 10-12 different cars we came upon this one. This body has almost no rust; and all of the trim is in excellent shape. This is just what we were looking for. The next step is to find a donor chassis. Well not only did we find a C6 Chassis but we found a 2007 C6 Z06 chassis with just 13,000 miles. This chassis is complete with all of the Z06 goodies, great big 6 piston front brakes and 13" rotors. A complete LS-7 dry sump engine, that may get updated to the LS-9...
Now the design work begins. Stay tuned; this car is going to be a Behemoth.
